They analyzed over 60 studies on the effects of collagen hydrolyzate and collagen peptides. They focused not only on the effects on the skin, but also on cartilage and bones. The women who took part in the study were between 45 and 65 years old. The results: <\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>After just four weeks, there was a visible reduction in skin wrinkles. The effect of collagen was particularly noticeable around the eyes. <\/li>\n<li>The collagen content in the skin has increased by an astonishing 65%.<\/li>\n<li>The content of elastin in the skin increased by 18% and the content of fibrillin by 6%.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>None of these improvements were seen in the participants who had taken the control product (an ineffective placebo). The effect is therefore clearly attributable to the collagen taken as a dietary supplement. No side effects were observed.
