Can collagen reduce wrinkles?

The effects of collagen and collagen hydrolyzate have been the subject of intensive research for over 20 years. Several high-quality studies have been carried out at German universities in recent years on the effect of collagen on the condition of the skin, in particular wrinkles, moisture and elasticity. The results are clear. We would be pleased to present these studies, on which the development of amitamin® Collagen System is also based, to you in detail.

Summary study on collagen hydrolyzate

A summarizing study by Spanish scientists was published in 2015. They analyzed over 60 studies on the effects of collagen hydrolyzate and collagen peptides. They focused not only on the effects on the skin, but also on cartilage and bones. The researchers came to a very positive conclusion:

Preclinical studies show that collagen hydrolyzate can stimulate the regeneration of collagen tissue. Not only collagen synthesis is increased, but also that of smaller components such as glucosamine glycans and hyaluronic acid. Preclinical studies show that HC stimulates collagenic tissue regeneration by increasing not only collagen synthesis but minor components (glycosaminoglycans and hyaluronic acid) synthesis as well.

Collagen as a dietary supplement reduces wrinkles and improves skin elasticity

In a study conducted at the University of Kiel in 2014, 114 female participants were examined to determine the extent to which skin elasticity and wrinkle formation can be improved by taking collagen. The women who took part in the study were between 45 and 65 years old. The results:

  1. After just four weeks, there was a visible reduction in skin wrinkles. The effect of collagen was particularly noticeable around the eyes.
  2. The collagen content in the skin has increased by an astonishing 65%.
  3. The content of elastin in the skin increased by 18% and the content of fibrillin by 6%.

None of these improvements were seen in the participants who had taken the control product (an ineffective placebo). The effect is therefore clearly attributable to the collagen taken as a dietary supplement. No side effects were observed. Epub 2013 Dec 24.

In a study conducted in 2013 with 69 participants, it was already proven that the intake of collagen can significantly improve skin elasticity. can be improved. In the participants who took a placebo (ineffective test preparation), skin elasticity did not improve measurably. Moisture also increased as a result of collagen intake, although the effect was not significant enough to be considered statistically reliable. As expected, no side effects were observed in this study either. High-dose collagen, combined with hyaluronic acid, Q10 and vitamins

If you want to take collagen for the health of your skin, we recommend amitamin® Collagen System. It has a significantly higher dosage than conventional collagen products in ampoule form. The mini drinks usually only contain around 25% of the daily dose of amitamin® Collagen System. At the same time, amitamin® Collagen System is significantly cheaper. And it also contains hyaluronic acid, coenzyme Q10 and important bioactive vitamins for healthy skin (biotin), collagen formation (vitamin C) and as a free radical scavenger (vitamin C, selenium).
